The Sweat Lodge is one of the most ancient sacred ceremonies, used by indigenous peoples all over the world as a ritual of healing that initiates powerful changes on all levels- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The beauty of the ceremony is in the ritual, and the power is in the prayers that are traditionally offered to the four directions, North, South, East and West.

The Sweat Lodge ceremony is an opportunity for us to pray in an intensely blessed environment, one that asks us to sacrifice part of ourselves. It is through the deep penetrating steam that the Lodge activates release and manifestation. We enter the lodge on our knees, bowing to the earth to honor all those who walk upon her. The sacred fire is connected to the lodge door, and glowing-hot rocks are brought into the lodge, and water gently poured over them while each person speaks his or her intentions and prayers, aloud or in silence. The steam that is created inside the lodge helps transmute those intentions. After the ceremony, participants enjoy a meal together to share their experiences.
