PAIN RELEASE

Pain can manifest itself in the body for any reason at all. The quest is how to release it appropriately. Physical pain can result from common, everyday work-related activities like sitting at the computer or doing repetitive movements. Long-standing injuries that have not been appropriately treatedcan be particularly aggravating to the body. Pain can be related to mental stresses, emotional events in one's life, or even spiritual issues.

NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY

Neuromuscular Therapy(NMT) is a treatment that not only responds to the symptoms but addresses the underlying causes of the pain. By working with posture, body mechanics, trigger points, tight and injured soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia), NMT results in a release of pain patterns by releasing tissues held in positions of "over compensation." This is accomplished through the use of hands and elbows.

Treatment begins with an evaluation of a person's posture, (the way our bodies relate to gravity and compensate), followed by an assessment of the biomechanics (the way that we move), and trigger points (areas in the muscles that refer pain to other parts in the body). The therapy will include deep-tissue massage and cross-fibering technique (massaging tissue horizontally) and much more. Neuromuscular Therapy helps to realign your body so the soft tissues and bones can work together with greater ease. Sometimes a lotion is also applied. Painful areas are addressed by working with those muscles that are distorting the body's postural integrity along with those producing pain in specific areas. Sessions last up to one hour, depending on the extent of the injury and each individual.

Clients are also given specific movements and stretches to continue the healing process at home. Neuromuscular therapy is effective in the treatment of headaches, neck, shoulder, back, knee, leg, foot and hand pain. It is also an excellent choice for those suffering with carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, dizziness and more. Neuromuscular Therapy is a powerful healing technique, beneficial to anyone and effective for most pain types.
